Deadlock Introduces Ranked Mode: A New Challenge for Competitive Players

Thu Oct 17 2024

Deadlock introduces its new Ranked Mode, featuring scheduled playtimes, weekly rank resets, and 11 ranks to climb.

Deadlock has unveiled its highly-anticipated Ranked Mode, designed to elevate competitive play to a new level. With a focus on structure, strategy, and schedule, this mode challenges players to commit to a routine while climbing 11 distinct ranks.

How Ranked Mode Works

Ranked Mode isn’t just about showing off your skills—it introduces a weekly schedule and rank resets, ensuring a dynamic and ever-evolving competitive landscape. Here’s a breakdown of how it works:

Deadlock Ranked Mode

Scheduled Playtimes:

Players must lock in a schedule to participate in Ranked Mode, ensuring more balanced matchmaking by having committed participants online at the same time. The time slots differ depending on your chosen North American region:

NA 1:

16:00 – 19:00
22:00 – 01:00

NA 2:

13:00 – 16:00
19:00 – 22:00

Deadlock Ranked Schedules

Once locked, schedules cannot be changed until the following week. This encourages dedication and planning while fostering a consistent pool of players.

11 Ranks with Weekly Resets

Deadlock’s Ranked Mode features 11 competitive ranks for players to progress through. However, the twist is that rank calculations and resets occur every week—a system that rewards players who remain active. At the end of each weekly cycle, ranks are recalculated based on performance, allowing players to rise through the ranks or potentially fall.

  • Inactive Penalty: If a player doesn’t participate in any Ranked matches for a week, their rank resets to Obscurus—a hidden status. They’ll need to re-qualify to display their rank in the following week’s matches.

Badges Coming Soon – Reveal on October 22, 2024

A major part of the Ranked Mode experience will be custom badges, which will represent a player’s accomplishments throughout the season. These badges are still under development and are set to be unveiled on October 22, 2024. Players are eagerly awaiting these visual rewards, which are expected to add prestige and flair to their ranked achievements.

The Ranks are:

  • Initiate
  • Seeker
  • Alchemist
  • Arcanist
  • Ritualist
  • Emissary
  • Archon
  • Oracle
  • Phantom
  • Ascendant
  • Eternus
